Overview

Plasma protein therapies (PPTs) treat a variety of medical conditions. Many of these are rare, chronic and often genetic conditions that are life threatening.

PPTs replace missing or deficient proteins which are obtained from human plasma. Patients generally require regular infusions or injections of these therapies for the duration of their lives.

PPTs are considered sole-source biologic products because no generic or chemical substitutions exist.
